ring of the anvil and the tradition of the artist blacksmith lives on at
33 year-old Nigel Tudor began his career at age 13 at nearby historical Meadowcroft Village and has
studied with some of the most renowned blacksmiths in the country.
In 2001, Nigel was selected by ABANA (the Artist Blacksmith Association of
North America) to study ornamental ironwork in Germany
at the atelier of
Timm Bredohl and Andreas Gueldenberg.
Coming full course, he has taught weeklong and weekend blacksmithing courses since 2004 at Touchstone Center for Crafts (where he has taken classes himself since he was 16).
Nigel is currently
focusing on architectural ironwork commissions, and has a
new farm implement business
Tudor Ag. He is also
farm operations, including field work, organic grains, planning,
keeping organic records, breakfast preparation and gardens. He was the
impetus behind Weatherbury Farm adding certified organic grains which in
turn has led to flour milling and pasta making.
