The Carriage
House Suite |
Soothing red living room with 2 sleeper sofas; sunny white bedroom with red
trim upstairs - twin & queen jenny lind beds. En suite bath with clawfoot
tub/shower. Oriental theme throughout. Individually controlled air
conditioning & heating with ceiling fans. A small refrigerator for guest
use. Sleeps 7. (3 adults max) "We're staying in the Carriage House, one of three two-story suites in the newly renovated guest barn that's perfect for the four of us. First is a living room with two sleeper sofas, a gas fireplace and plenty of running-around room. Up in the old hayloft area, the bedroom boasts one queen and one single bed -- which our three-year old immediately claims as her 'big-girl farm bed' -- covered in charming, worn-soft lines of red-and-cream ticking and Laura Ashley florals. An ancient trunk hold extra pillows and blankets, while the bathroom has a real claw foot tub and a pull-chain toilet (a big winner with our recently potty-trained preschooler)." Tracy Thompson / Pursuits Magazine Summer 2004 |
| The Mews Suite | Garden themed rooms with sunny white walls and white trim. En suite bath with clawfoot tub/shower. Murphy bed & sleeper sofa downstairs; jenny lind queen & daybed (full) upstairs. Individually controlled air conditioning & heating with ceiling fans. A small refrigerator for guest use. Sleeps 7. (2 adults max) |
| The Stables Suite | Navy living room with sleeper sofa. Pineapple stencil with twin & Queen pineapple poster beds upstairs. En suite bath with clawfoot tub/shower. Traditional decor. Individually controlled air conditioning & heating with ceiling fans. A small refrigerator for guest use. Sleeps 6. (3 adults max) |
| The Tack Room (opening in 2008/9) | Located in the
one-story addition made to the Livery, the Tack Room has a sitting area and a wonderful view out of large
corner windows of the meadow. The ensuite bath has a wonderful old tub for soaking (but with lower sides than a clawfoot for easy accessibility). |

-- 3rd adult on daybed) "Our room was 'mother's sewing room,' a charming wood-floored, slant-roofed cubby with two skinny windows and a big view of a sunlit cow pasture. The king-sized bed and daybed were comfy and prettily appointed in blue and white. Knickknacks featuring a sewing theme were in abundance, and the bathroom boasted a claw-foot tub." Karen Kane / The (Pittsburgh) Post Gazette, August 1, 2004 "Our quarters, Mother's Sewing Room, had a black-and-gold foot-pedaled Singer machine as part of the decor, drawing Arjun and Araxi's attention for hours. They also inspected the steamer trunk, which stored extra bedding, and admired the claw-foot bathtub. I swear they never noticed the room had no TV." Suzy Walrath / Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, May 2006 |
